Michael Ayers life began on Serenity Station, a small installation located on the edge of Vulcan space that over the course of the last three centuries, has acted as a port of call for wandering travelers; native and alien. He was the child of a Terran father, who had taken a Bajoran for his wife during the Cardassian occupation of Bajor. Removed from the war torn planet of Bajor shortly before her child's birth, Michael's mother found sanctuary in the arms of her husband. The two of then found temporary refuge on Serenity Station in time for Michael's birth before preparing for the final passage to Earth. Michael was then raised in San Francisco , whilst applying towards every educational opportunity and incentive available to him. On his way towards adolescence, Michaelbecame a remarkable student, with an incredible aptitude for language study. He was popular amongst his peers, and his Bajoran attributes earned a great deal of attention from many girls. At the outbreak of the Dominion War, Michael joined a support group comprised of young people who would write subspace messages to Starfleet personnel. This organization quickly grew throughout Federation Space, and received interplanetary recognition for their efforts to boost moral for those struggling against the Dominion. Each member was exposed to the harsh certainty of war however, as continued correspondence from the fighting men and women of the Federation dwindled with every battle. Years after the Dominion's surrender, Michael selected to enroll into Starfleet Academy as a cadet. While this decision was met with speckled feedback from his parents, they valued his conviction and supported him in this undertaking. After passing the exams within the top ten percentile, Michael was intrigued by the utilization of strike craft in space combat operations, and volunteered for service as a fighter pilot. Again, he excelled and was ranked as a highly adept aviator with strong potential as a squadron leader. Four years later, Michael graduated from the academy and was assigned to the USS Harbinger; a Typhoon Class Carrier assigned to high-risk, often classified, operations across and beyond Federation space. Using one of Starfleet's new strike models; the Valkyrie class fighter craft, he participated in as many combat operations in peace time as most pilots did during the war. Because of the nature of the mission, most pilots on board the USS Harbinger had a life expectancy of twelve major combat operations; lower than the eighteen from the war. New faces were a common occurrence, and after a while even Michael had a difficult time befriending them, knowing that they'd probably be dead or wounded by the end of the month. He had no illusions of coming out of the fire unscathed, and knew with contentment that the day would come where he would face the coming darkness. Until then, he lived life to it's fullest whenever the Harbinger wasn't participating in combat operations. A week before they were deployed to prosecute an organized military force that had been raiding nearby Federation worlds, he had a bad feeling; a premonition of sorts, and contacted his parents. It would be the last time they would hear from him for the next eight months. Their next opponent were well known for employing state-of-the-art cybernetic strike craft, each capable of making sophistically lethal maneuvers against their enemies. The mission success probability was less than thirty-five percent for conventional Starfleet forces, high enough odds for the Angry Angels. While the squadron had achieved the element of surprise, they quickly found themselves the victims of a well orchestrated ambush. Facing multiple waves of enemy craft and cruisers, the Angry Angels were forced to combine their firepower with that of the Harbinger's in order to achieve the mission, and even still were forced to withdraw.Michael's fighter was struck and crippled by enemy fire before he could return to the ship. He himself was critically wounded and suffered from severe radiation poisoning before being recovered by a non-military salvage operation several hours later, unsanctioned by the enemy government. Tended back to health for months until he could be returned to the Harbinger, Michael was diagnosed with significant nerve and tissue damage. His entire left arm was also replaced with a synthetic model. Unable to perform his functions as a fighter pilot, he received a medical discharge from Starfleet with honorable mention, the Silver Star, and two Purple Hearts. Even though he couldn't continue in his service with the military, Michael found the next best way to serve the fleet. He had already a fair amount of experience as the Harbinger's unofficial bartender, and only had to advance his knowledge before requesting a position on board the USS Galaxy. Opening a small bar and diner called “Angel Moon” he would serve the crew in the only way he still could. A recreational environment filled with games, a holographic music player, and of course, plenty of food and drinks. |

Michael is a kind hearted guy who has taken it upon himself to provide entertainment and recreation for those who come through his doors. He enjoys listening to others, and will usually go out of his way to provide any service so long as it doesn't violate too many legal codes. He can be pretty hard headed at times, especially when he feels less than useful. He doesn't however, talk about his past experiences with the Harbinger. He's kept everything pretty vague about what exactly he did in the fleet before his discharge, and his file doesn't disclose a whole lot, which attracts a lot of conversation and theories amongst the crew. Some people think he never served in the fleet, while others suspect he was in some variety of covert operations. His injuries bring a lot of questions to the game. |

Due to the injuries he sustained in combat, Michael is required to take an experimental drug that grants him temporary mobility without further assistance. This drug causes brief moments of intense pain, and can inflict further damage when used too often. | ||
