Jobel and Kimimela Curix met while Science Officer Jobel was on an exploration mission of planets in which he came across Krios Prime. Kriosians are humanoid species, colonized by the Klingons. The Kriosians had fought against the Klingons to win some freedom on Krios, however, little was accomplished, and the Klingons remained. The Federation presence was not welcome
on Krios, making it very difficult for Science Officer Jobel to learn much about the Kriosian people. However, Jobel managed to win the affection of a beautiful young Kriosian female, Kimimela. With time and patience Jobel won Kimimela as his wife, and she gave birth Nikolima Curix soon after their marriage
Nikolima was raised around a verity of different cultures, religions, and languages. Her parents alone, taught Nikolima about Human side of the Federation and their language, Trill, Kriosian, Klingon, and even some Ferengi (Ferengi are well known traders of Krios Prime, and envious of the woman on Krios). Nikolima s mother, Kimimela Curix was and is considered a linguistics teacher on board Starbase
19, and Kimimela made her sure daughter learned all as much about the different cultures that both her parents were accustomed too. Kimimela also taught her daughter the advantage of knowing so many languages, and how important it was for Nikolima to learn as many languages and cultures as possible.
By the early age of ten, Nikolima was picking up books and spending hours in the libraries. The basic education on board Starbase 19 couldn t keep Nikolima s attention, and her curiosity seemed to always get the best of her. Jobel had hoped his daughter would use her interest in books, to become a science officer in Starfleet, however. Nikolima enjoyed the communications and diplomacy side of
the Federation. Though, these departments might not have been as interesting or exciting to some, Nikolima quickly took on the love for languages like her mother.
The Dominion War took place between 2374 and 2375, which was one of the largest and bloodiest wars ever recorded throughout the Milky Way Galaxy. The Federation lost many, including many lives onboard Starbase 19. Nikolima was fifteen when the war began, and feared for the life of her father and all those she had come to love on her Starbase home. Many were lost, but none were forgotten. The
Dominion War created the desire to join Starfleet within Nikolima. In 2375, on Nikolima s seventeenth birthday she joined Starfleet. The Federation had allowed early entries to help replenish their loses. Nikolima was an intelligent young woman, with a personality that Starfleet found interesting and encouraging after such devastation. She was fresh, and different from most young students. Because
Nikolima had never really adopted one culture for herself, she had a way of looking at things differently than most.
Communications seemed like the natural course for Nikolima, but taking on Security as a minor surprised both her parents. It was encouraged by counselors within the academy for students to take on a minor in different from their major, so that they would have a higher purpose in Starfleet. Nikolima like the idea of security, because communications could lead her anywhere and this way she would
know how to protect herself. Nikolima was top in her class, and tended to find favor in most of her professors eyes. Though, teacher s pet was a running joke amongst her friends, Nikolima believed in modesty and didn t let her good grades get the best of her attitude. She loved helping others out around campus, and creating small social groups to help first year cadets.
Nikolima met Commander Christopher Falcome as a third year cadet. Christopher, who was a Lieutenant at the time, was requested to join Outpost 92 for a special security training class. Christopher Falcome fought during the Dominion War, and was a well-known security officer within Starfleet. He enjoyed his job, and more often than not he took it more serious than one should. He had eight years
on Nikolima, however, that didn t detour either of them. She was young, spirited, and full of life the opposite of Christopher, but somehow they completed each other. Christopher Falcome had put in good word with his ship, USS Al-Betoni, and had her transferred to his ship after her graduation in 2379.
The USS Al-Betoni was a search and rescue vessel, and was known for it s unique missions with Starfleet. Nikolima was stationed under Chief Communications officer Li Mang. Captain Jason McGrath of the Al-Betoni was impressed with Nikolima s communications abilities, and found her useful in missions and commended her on her talents. Christopher and Nikolima married shortly after her first year
on the Al-Betoni during a brief visit to the Bajoran sector. Nikolima served with the USS Al-Betoni for five years, four of those married to Commander Christopher Falcome. She was a hard worker, and a creditable officer. Nikolima loved Starfleet, and enjoyed her duties as a communications officer. The Al-Betoni was an amazing ship, with a great crew. However, it was the end of her fifth year
with Al-Betoni, that Nikolima put her request for transfer.
Christopher Falcome was a strong man, who cared more about the Federation, and his position as Chief of Security, than he card about Nikolima, his wife. Shortly after their third year of marriage, Nikolima found that the age and their cultural differences were tearing the two apart. Nikolima tried for another six months to make their marriage work, but she found that she annoyed and angered her
husband with her constant concerns for their relationship. Christopher grew apart, called her childish and immature. It was when Christopher lashed out with violent abuse that Nikolima placed her request for transfer, and filed for divorce. Though she never filed a complete with Starfleet, Nikolima wished not to hurt her husband s career, but only to move on and forward with her life. After only
a short six months of legal work, Nikolima received word that her requests for transfer had been approved, and that her divorce was final. |
Ensign Curix does not understand the word, introverted, and sociable does not begin to describe the young officer. After having grown up on a Starbase for so long, Nikolima Curix loves introducing herself to new people, and keeping the word stranger out of her vocabulary. Communicating with people comes naturally to her, and being with people keeps is what she loves.
Many love her warm and open personality, though some find her to be a little too honest and outgoing at first though most tend to warm up to her extreme personality traits. To say the least she is very venturesome, personable, and a whole lot of trouble. Niki loves life, and believes in living it to the fullest.
Nikolima Curix is the kind of woman that knows how to laugh at herself, and take a joke. Known for her sense of humor, and sarcastic talents; there is never a dull moment when she is around. Her spirited ways are known for keeping her crew mates going during tiresome times, and her approachable manor makes her good at what she does. Normally, Niki lets little bother her and does not get angry
very easily. However, like anyone she does have a down and ugly side when she wants to. Spirited, flirtatious, and talented with provocative innuendos; Nikolima Curix is one of kind. |
