Elijah’s home is the planet Zalkon, a neutral planet in the Zeta Gelis Cluster. Prior to the year 2366, the Zalkonian race began suffering from painful isoelectric bursts and exhibiting strange mutations of their tissues. The Zalkonian government, fearing these changes, attempted to purge the society by killing any who exhibited these symptoms. Prior to the enactment of the purge, Elijah’s parents escaped the planet, bound for the Alpha Quadrant in search of refuge against the worsening political situation. Shortly after, the government restricted interplanetary travel.

Elijah and his parents were very lucky to leave before the Zalkonian government enacted the freeze on interplanetary travel. At the time of their departure in 2372 Elijah was 14 earth years old. Due to their haste, timing was not opportune. Elijah’s mother Ji’hen Marakesh Faraal had started to undergo the transformation. The family tried to seek political refuge on many planets, but none would offer protective asylum. During their voyage, Elijah’s parents evolved into the next stage of evolution, becoming non-corporeal beings of isoelectric energy. In their advanced state, Elijah’s parents recognized him as different from themselves. After running tests, Elijah’s parents found that he could control the painful isoelectric bursts that signaled the Zalkonian non-corporeal form. Elijah was at a different stage of evolution progress than his parents.

Throughout their voyage, Elijah began training at the helm of their shuttle. He enjoyed piloting their small craft, and decided to become a pilot on whatever planet they found a home on. While passing through the Alpha quadrant, Elijah had the privilege to see the many classes of starship commanded by Starfleet. Earth was the only planet that offered selected protective asylum for the family. Elijah’s parents were asked to change their image, however, and with much practice the newly advanced Zalkonians were able to redirect their energy and take on the form of corporeal beings once again.

As Elijah grew to 17 years he began his official training in Starfleet, he began to discover that he had the ability to heal. Only cuts and scrapes at first but as he continued to heal his friends he found he could heal progressively worse injuries. Searching within himself with his parents he discovered that eventually he could even be able to mend torn limbs, return motion to the paralyzed, and restore sight to the blind. He is, however, a very long way away from advancing up the evolutionary ladder.

After Graduating from the academy, Elijah served for a year aboard the U.S.S. Sovereign, and has requested a transfer to the U.S.S. Galaxy, of which has been granted.

Elijah is a well-rounded character. He enjoys piloting all sorts of craft, and likes the amount of seclusion that it offers. Initially, he may seem quiet, but he is always happy to take part in a conversation with other crew members. He makes fast friends, but tries never to allow his personal life to interfere with his duties. When he’s not flying the ship you’ll find him in his quarters in meditation to soothe his mind, in the mess hall, or the holodeck trying a new flight simulator. He has a keen mind, quick wit, and will be a loyal friend. He is not afraid to be outspoken, and will share his feelings when he feels necessary. He is fairly short standing an even 6 feet and fairly thin with bright green eyes and short curly brown hair.

As a Zalkonian, Elijah has the power to evolve into a non-corporeal being of pure energy (though it will be many years before he obtains that power). Elijah also has the ability to channel his own isoelectric energy with his mind and hands to heal and to move objects much like a sight to sight transport. He is able to heal everything from scratches to mending bones to burns. Doing so, however, leaves him very drained and exhausted. During this period, he enters a type of trance like state where certain functions of his body shut down and his thought process slows to a crawl.

Essentially, depending on the severity of the wound, if Elijah were to heal, he would be incapacitated anywhere from 5 minutes to 5 hours while his life energy recharges. His healing ability is also similar to flexing a muscle, the more it is exercised the stronger it gets, and the shorter amount of time is needed to restore his energy. It should be noted again, that Elijah is tens of years away from his evolutionary advancement. While retaining the power over isoelectric energy, he will not be able to take his place among the stars as a non-corporeal being for decades.
