At the age of three standard Terran years, G'Bat'ea was sent to Nausicaa for Training in history, survival and other basic Nausicaan concepts. during the next 11 years he was taught how to be a clever but aggressive soldier and how to handle inter-ship battles, fire fights and hand-to-hand combat. He excelled in both the academics behind battle and the physical skills taught to him. Two of the eleven years he was champion of the Training survival fight tournament - one year even beating off competition from a Klingon.
At the age of 14 he was put into service with the militia as a soldier aboard the L'Katarg. The vessel was assigned mainly raiding missions, but saw a fair deal of action during the two years G'Bat'ea served her. The vessel met it's demise in 2367 when the Commander, having successfully raided an Orion Pirate Outpost, decided to pit the vessel against the pursuing Orion Raider rather than try to outrun it. The Orion Raider, much to the surprise of the Nausicaans, put up a good fight them with it's last ounce of power rammed the L'Katarg. There was only a few minutes to evacuate before the vessel began to explode. G'Bat'ea and two other crewmembers made it off alive in escape pods. The trio were found unconscious in the pods - the life support systems failing - two days later by a Zakdorn vessel.
The vessel, a supply ship running through the area on return to Zakdorn, placed the Nausicaans in sickbay to be treated, under confinement for the safety of the Zakdorn crew. On return to Zakdorn the Nausicaans were allowed a bit more freedom - allowed to wander freely as long as under supervision. Initial attempts to contact Nausicaa failed and the trio were granted a shuttlepod to return on their own power. G'Bat'ea however had other plans. The other two left the Zakdron planet while G'Bat'ea enlisted himself for courses at the Zakdorn Tactical Academy - a much renowned institution. Although his presence caused uproar among the Zakdron people, his application was accepted provisionally.
The next three years were spent carrying out the compromise that G'Bat'ea had agreed too, learning at the most prestigious tactical school in this quadrant while attending reprogramming and agression management courses. This combination led to a great ability in martial arts which was respected by his peers at the Academy. He made several successful social relationships despite his differences to most of the people at the Academy, including one near-romance with a Trill woman - Trialla Mar. The woman in question and G'Bat'ea spent a lot of time together training in marital arts and studying battles of old. It was during a late night session that the kiss happened, a firm kiss applied to that spot every Nausicaan has... However, the next morning, refreshed from some much needed sleep, the pair agreed to keep their relationship to 'just close friends' - one night of passion does not a relationship make it would seem. G'Bat'ea recovered from this first sexual encounter rather well - the Nausicaans being renowned for their lack of concern with love.
After completion of his studies, G'Bat'ea returned to Nausicaa to be promoted to an officer due to his extensive training. He served the Battlecruiser P'Tar as her Tactical Officer for 4 years. In which time he saw a great deal of action against several other small civilisations springing up around Federation and Klingon space - an area frequented by Nausicaan vessels. However, it was after these four years that G'Bat'ea met the most formidable foe he ever would.
In 2374, the P'Tar was diverted by order of he Nausicaan Military Command. The Nausicaans were now co-operating with Starfleet - the war with the Dominion was now their war. The P'Tar joined the fleet for the invasion of Chin'Toka and fought valiantly. However the ship took heavy damages and losses. The vessel had to be abandoned and the survivors were evacuated by the Klingons. There being too few Nausciaan ships to redeploy these survivors, they were put to service for the Klingons. G'Bat'ea found himself serving as Tactical Officer aboard the I.K.S. K'Targ. For six months the Nausicaan enjoyed blood-wine, battle songs, war stories and blood-thirsty action among his Klingon companions. It was home away from home.
However, disruption again came. Starfleet, having provided the majority of the vessels for the war thus far, were running dangerously low on officers. Nausicaa had decided to transfer its officers to Starfleet control indefinitely. And so, G'Bat'ea became a provisonal Lieutenant (junior grade) and Security Officer aboard the U.S.S. Potemkin. The change took a bit of adjusting too, and a brawl with other officers and a reprimand later G'Bat'ea settled into his new role and environment. It was aboard the Potemkin that the young officer gained most of his experience of fighting against the odds - and quite often succeeding. A promotion to Lieutenant came following the Battle for Cardassia, during which G'Bat'ea had been at Tactical following the demise of the Chief of Tactical in an explosion at the same console. he was awared a purple heart for continuing to fight on despite being wounded himself.
And so the war concluded, and so the Nausicaan became a non-provisonal Starfleet officer. Assigned to the U.S.S. Sutherland as a Security Officer, G'Bat'ea spent most of his time on and around Cardassia while the Federation rendered aid and helped rebuld in the wake of the Dominion occupation of that world. The security officers present often acting as a peace-keeping force between a confused and highly volatile society.
In 2380 however, the Cardassian government re-established and the planet sufficiently rebuilt, the Starfleet officers were asked to leave despite ongoing rioting. G'Bat'ea and several of his Sutherland colleagues were on the planet at the time and were ordered back to vessel to return to Federation Space. However, the small group of officers were protecting a family who supported Federation involvement from a gang of rioters. They refused to leave until 2 hours later when the rioting had been brought under control. They were promptly arrested by Cardassian officers for still being present and after much negotiating by Captain Iri of the Sutherland were turned over to her custody. G'Bat'ea, as the senior officer present, took full responsibility for the group's actions and although the Captain understood his motives she decided she had no choice but to reprimand him. G'Bat'ea was demoted to Ensign and an official reprimand was put on his file. The irony of the request 6 month' s later for futher Federation intervention was not lost on G'Bat'ea.
G'Bat'ea served aboard the Sutherland for a further two years when she was sent on a five year tour of border exploration, employing his skills very little except during a few run-ins with aggressive races off the Federation border. In 2382, as the Sutherland returned to Starbase 349 for crew rotations and minor repairs, G'Bat'ea was granted a transfer to a 'more suitable' role aboard the U.S.S. Galaxy where his skills would be better utilised.
As of late G'Bat'ea has found himself awakening emotionally - it is not until quite late in life that Nasuciaans usually mate or pair off and he is beginning to reach that age. A mate may not be out of the question but he has a lot to learn in that field before he settles down.
G'Bat'ea is quite a kind individual although he likes to hide it under a front of macho. He prefers to be thought of as the dumb Nausicaan with a flare for battle and strategy than the deep-thinker with a knowledge of history and a flare for martial arts that he actually is.
