Pre Starfleet:
Nicholi was born into the Third House of Betazed on November 23rd. He was brought into the world at a modest medical facility in the Betazoid planet capital of Cynrdiel.

A difficult process from the beginning, Nicholi's parents, Kaleena and Jessip, had been attempting to bear children since Kaleena s 40th birthday, the age when Betazoid women enter the Phase, and are at their sexual peak. Although, in Kaleena s case, it took much longer, around five more years, to bring Nicholi into the world.

Nicholi's birth was relatively ordinary and had little complications. He was named after his great grandfather, and is lovingly referred to as "Little One".

Nicholi's childhood was based closely upon the philosophy that it takes a whole village to raise a child . Although he lived in the large capital city, the area of town he lived in was known as a sub-village. It was comprised of twenty family s who all had, at least, one child. When Nicholi was born, he was one of three children entering the world and would grow up beside these other two children and become close friends with them, quite often reuniting with them when returning to Betazed as well as staying in contact most of his life.

Nicholi's historical, mental, telepathic and primary education were conducted within house, and was not limited to the teachings of his parents, but also those of the entire sub-village. Because of such actions, his well-roundedness can be contributed to the open-minded view of all those who lovingly taught him.

Life was rather ordinary and commonplace for much of Nicholi's childhood. He participated in many of the activities children his age took part in and grew into a loving individual who the sub-village learned to trust and rely on.

Nicholi's love for all those around him was so immense that he had difficulty identifying a love for himself. Because of this, Nicholi suffered a mental and personal break down at the age of twelve. This break down caused Nicholi to be introduced into counseling at a young age, to re-identify a love for him. He is still in the recovery stages to this date.

Because Nicholi directed all of his love towards those around him, it was only natural, that he seek a profession where his telepathic and empathic abilities could be utilized. Upon graduation from his primary schooling he immediately entered Starfleet Academy.

Although his parents were not pleased with his decision to enter a militaristic society and leave Betazed, they were pleased to know that their son would be carrying on in a profession that would help better their child. Nicholi tried to persuade his parents that the Federation was no longer war-bound and had returned to its exploration and scientific center. They were skeptical but allowed him pardon to the Academy.

Starfleet:
Nicholi's experiences throughout Starfleet Academy were awe-inspiring, eye opening, and educationally driven. He discovered much more of himself and a love that was totally his own. He had found a place where he was accepted and could flourish.

Although he was not the greatest of students, he did earn moderately good grades and was able to keep himself just above the marker for honorary students.

He was an active participant in various clubs and organizations on campus, and was a common face at campus events, the gym, and pool (only after he was formally reprimanded for participating in using illegal drugs, his alternative to being dismissed from the Academy was to partake in 20 hours of community service and increased participation on the Academy campus).

The last year at the academy, Nicholi was privileged enough to serve on the U.S.S. Surek, a Starfleet Academy training cruise ship. There he served as an "Acting Security Officer" and earned the remainder of his academy credits.

Nicholi is a very compassionate and caring individual; his well-rounded character and open-mind grant him the personality of an approachable person. He is seen as a confidant and a comrade. His mental implications are extravagant and because he posses such an empathic and telepathic nature, it is only customary that he lead a career where his abilities are utilized.

He is neither easily frustrated nor angered, but tends to become such when he is overly stressed and emotionally drained.

When Nicholi walks into a room, he is most often noticed first, and because of his personality traits, he tends to have little difficulty making new friends. Yet, Nicholi is terribly shy and will not initiate conversation and interaction first, only when the need warrants such an action.

Nicholi is terribly new to Deep Space exploration and can come across as very timid and easily scared. Although this does not seem like the personality of a Starfleet Security Officer, he does do his duty to the best of his ability and will follow orders as so instructed. He is highly adaptable and always willing to learn something new. He is a very intelligent individual, yet can be clouded by a bit boyish naivety and gullability

Nicholi is not a morning person, but tends to drag by as needed.

Likes:
Believe it or not, Nicholi actually enjoys sleeping. The feeling of wrapping himself in numerous blankets and piles of pillows and drifting off to the world of dreams can be quite pleasurable.

Dislikes:
Nicholi has a total lack of patience for those with a closed mind and a shielded heart. He feel s that all deserve a fair chance, and extra chances should be handed out when the situation warrant s such an action.

Quirks:
Nicholi is quite the day dreamer, he has an impressive imagination that can take him on wondrous rides of the mind. This is both a benefit and detriment, though, because he finds himself sailing off at the improper moments in time. It might not be too uncommon to look onto the face of Nicholi and see a glossed over look as a staff meeting progresses.

Strengths/Talents:
Nicholi talents lay deep within the performing arts. He is an exceptional tenor vocalist, who tends to perform more operatic pieces then modern day conscriptions.

Nicholi is also an avid writer of fictional stories and poetry. He has one poetry book published on the home world of Betazed. In fact, if it were not for becoming a part of Starfleet, Nicholi would be an author back on Betazed.

Limitations/Weaknesses:
Self exclusion; this type of neglect on oneself will bring all personal attention and direct it towards other individuals, while in the meantime, one looses self perspective and a love for themselves. This usually leads to a mental breakdown, unless one is able to identify signs and symptoms and seek counseling.

Nicholi has suffered from self exclusion at least once, during early childhood. There is a possibility that, in the future (if placed in the ideal conditions) that Nicholi might experience self-exclusion once more.

He also suffers from a genetic, childhood ailment which slowly causes the deterioration of the chemical nucleic bonds between each gene. This disruption of genetic sequencing will cause the Betazoid to pass away at a relatively early age, living only until he is around sixty years old. The pain and disfigurement involved in this process is most dismal.
