Born somewhere in the vicinity of Betelguese, Mark came to Earth as a young man to find his place in the galaxy. He figured Earth would be a good place for that because someone mentioned it during a golf game.

While there, he studied psychology because the way the mind works interested him. Mark graduated from college with a degree in psychology and a minor in pharmacology.

Upon graduating from Starfleet Academy, he was assigned to Starbase One where he served until the space station was blown up by terrorists on October 1, 2380. Mark was vacationing on Mars at the time and luckily, missed the explosion.

Next he was assigned to the USS Miranda where he served for four years. Some of his more interesting therapy sessions included Shinta Navarre and Arel Smith.

When his tour of duty on Miranda was finished, Mark was transferred to the USS Galaxy in 2384.

Mark has a likable personality and gets along with most people, even the hard cases. He also has quite the unusual counseling style. He comes across as a normal person instead of a therapist which catches many people off guard. He has a tenacious counseling style and nearly every time, gets results where others can not. He intends to help people whether they know they're getting helped or not.

Mark golfs, throws darts, plays poker, and smokes cigars whenever he can. He also enjoys a wide variety of alcoholic beverages but not wine.

Mark has been known to show a devious streak from time to time. Often, more observant people notice he seems to be hiding something but so far, nothing has been proven.
