Dar'ce grew up on the Xenonian Republic world of Trivon, a rim colony near to the Klingon border. His father was a Republic Navy Commander, his mother a stay at home mom. His family respected the age old traditions and religion of their ancestors, and treated every person they came in contact with respect and generosity, until that person proved themselves unworthy.

Miquelan’s oldest brother Luveth’a became an engineer within the Xenonian Republic High Guard, serving on the Elta-class Carrier Elta Nor. When the Republic was finally admitted to the Federation in 2377, the High Guard was absorbed into Starfleet, and Luveth’a was transferred to the USS Gorkon as a junior engineer.

When Dar'ce attained the Age of Decision, 15 for a male Xenonian, he applied and was accepted at the Xenonian Military Academy. After completing the two-year course, he attended the Starfleet Tactical Preparatory Academy on Zakdorn, where he graduated in the top ten percent of his class. During his year there, he applied to Starfleet Academy and took the entrance exam. He was accepted and entered the academy in 2379.

At Starfleet Academy, Miquelan took to the Tactical and Security training with ease, expanding on the training he had received on Xenon and Zackdorn. During his training cruise in the summer of 2381, he was given a regular rotation on Bridge duty, due to the shortage of tactical officers on that ship.

Back at the academy, Miquelan expanded his course load in his junior year to include Tactical Engineering, a course recommended by an Operations major that had graduated the previous year, the first Xenonian to do so. The class broadened the range of Miquelan’s knowledge, and helped in his regular tactical studies. In the spring of 2384, Miquelan Dar’ce graduated seventeenth in his class, and just third at the Tactical/Security Branch. He has been posted to the USS Galaxy as a Tactical Officer.

After just a few months on the Galaxy, Miquelan was pulled from duty and posted to the Starfleet Liaison office on Xenon Prime. Assuming his father had a hand in this, since his cousin Trevan Isar had the same happen to him, Miquelan and Trevan each took an extended leave of absence from Starfleet, expecting to invoke the ire of their families. It worked well, and after almost a year, their fathers each promised not to interfere with their Starfleet careers. Miquelan applied for his previous posting on board the Galaxy.

Miquelan Dar'ce is a typical Xenonian, with typical Xenonian talents. He is a duty driven individual, but with his religious background, he refuses to step on others to move up in his career; he generally prefers to do the best job he can, even if recognition never comes.

Miquelan, or Miq as he came to be known at the academy, enjoys Xenonian-style operas, stringed and orchestral music. He has recently broadened his tastes to include art forms such as Terran orchestral pieces, as well as a form known as "Bluegrass." Klingon Opera is growing on him.

Miquelan prefers to spend his off-duty hours either in the gym or in his quarters reading, though he dislikes eating alone, and will often seek out company in one of the mess halls on the ship. His interest in women is ordinary, but he rarely makes the concerted effort win a heart, or even a date. His time is better spent furthering his career ambitions.

Miq rarely drinks, but when he does, it is a celebration.

Xenonians are telepathic and telekinetic, though the latter trait is quite subdued in the majority of the population. Only a few extremely powerful Xenonians are found each generation, and they are trained by the Xandar Warriors.

Roughly one-third of the Xenonian population has an eidetic memory, and Miquelan is one of them. He can remember the first time he had a dream, as vividly as he remembers his last meal.
