2368:
Theft of Starfleet Property: Being an Amateur Pilot, but unable to change his profession while still in "A-School." Deac stole an Academy Trainer that was docked at SB1. He required the attention of his fellow Trainees. Why he wasn't punished remains to be seen....or rather the humiliation of being a test dummy for his classmates seemed punishment enough. The Trainer was recovered, and returned to working order.
2372:
Disobeyed Orders: During an Accident on Deep Space 9, Deacon continued to work on a patient, despite almost zero hope of saving him, and being ordered to Give up. The Patient died, but the lesson was learned.

Deacon grew up in the small resort town of Cape May, New Jersey as the youngest child in a group of 4. Deac looked up to his Eldest brother Patton most of his childhood. His twin sisters Sally and Molly tormented him most of his childhood. Mother Johanne, and Father Doug, protecting their son from whatever came his way.

Deacon WAS the kid brother, so everybody looked out for him. Despite this, Deacon was a determined young man, who refused to be sheltered the way his parents and siblings did, and he saw what he wanted to do in his brother. Patton was a local EMT. A Local hero. Deac spent most of high school preparing for a career as an EMT and later a Doctor. But that all changed when Doug decided he was going to leave Earth and run a Cardassian Cuisine Restaurant on Luna named "Cardie's" WITHOUT his mother. The entire family broke up into pieces. Deacon was the only one with no reason to stay on Earth, his brother having become a respected doctor in Cleveland, Ohio, and his sisters working as agents working the Vid-Net's newest stars wherever they were needed. Nobody really knows what happened to Johanne.

One opportunity presented itself. Unfortunately, Deacon failed the academy entrance exam. Instead of retesting, Deacon enlisted. He had the chance he always wanted.... only IN SPACE! In 2 months, CM2 left basic in Great Lake Michigan and embarked to become a Trainee EMT on Starbase 1. Soon he proved his worth, and even got an early promotion to CM3. After 3 years as an EMT on the USS Venture, Chief Mate Starke became Petty Officer Starke, and soon was assigned to the Starfleet presence on Deep Space 9 serving alongside Bajoran EMT's and other colorful folks.

Deacon managed to escape during the Dominion invasion of DS9, and volunteered to become a combat medic, so he could have the chance to fight back. He fought along side security forces on the ship in which he truly started his career. The USS Venture. He saw action in the biggest battles and victories of the war. He fought and saved men in the Battles of DS9, Chin'Toka, and temporarily returned to his old duty of EMT aboard the USS Venture.

Following the war, Deacon received a promotion to Petty Officer 2nd class and returned to DS9 as it's newest head EMT. Much of the old crew left, several of which Petty Officer Starke had come to admire. He stayed for 3 years and requested a transfer. "Anywhere but Here." Oh he got anywhere alright. The USS Sovereign had finally become fully operational, and needed a Head EMT. Deacon fit the bill and was transferred to her, with a bonus promotion. Two years there, and due to excellent performance, Deac was offered a commission, accepted, and went to Officer Training School.

The newly commissioned ensign was assigned to the USS Galaxy in 2381.

Deacon is incredibly determined, valiant, foolhardy, hardheaded, and stubborn. The life of an ally means everything to him. Same with the lives of innocents, especially children and women, and species don't matter either. Despite his high regard for life, anyone who would willingly take the life of another is and would have been a target for any weapon he is carrying.

Another anomaly is personality is that Deacon is an adrenaline freak. Thankfully he learned not to steal equipment during his trainee days. He usually can be found in the holodeck coming up with some odd new thrill, something that would likely require his own services if something went wrong (or right.)

Deacon is skilled in CPR in a number of core Federation member species, as well as several non-member species (primarily Klingon and Romulan.)

He actually prefers to stun enemies instead of kill them, whenever possible. He won't hesitate to kill if necessary though.
