David was born at Keesler Medical Center in Biloxi MS to a Starfleet Lt., Charles West and a waitress whose name Charles doesn’t even remember. His mother was very young and didn’t want the responsibility of taking care of a young child, so David’s Father paid her a “generous stipend” and left the care of the infant son to his parents Green Bay, WI. He grew up a fairly normal life on his grandparents farm where he helped tend the herds and watched a lot of ancient movies. There was very little to do beyond that and driving the big combine tractors. So when he reached the legal age to enter Starfleet he signed right up. At the academy David, was reunited with his father. The young pilot in training struggled while at the academy after getting involved in several barroom altercations, but ultimately graduated without distinction in 2373. It was the onset of the Dominion Wars and he was assigned as a helmsman aboard the USS Andover. Part way through the campaign he was transferred to a Bajoran Antares class ship when the Andover was destroyed. While aboard the Prylar, he passed the exam to achieve his Pilot Flight Cross. After the war with some influence exerted by his now father, now a Commander, he was able to secure a position as an third-shift helmsman aboard the USS Galaxy. West was wounded during the Battle of Havras and while recovering he attended the SFFC and graduated as a Starfighter. After graduation, he was reassigned to the Galaxy to the Saber Wing. He is studying for the tests to allow him to pilot anything in the fleet.


David loves flying, and loves bars. Though not a heavy drinker he does like to enjoy the various activities that bars include. He is a cocky fellow that likes to make people laugh with impressions and quotes from archaic movies. He is very gregarious and is most comfortable being the center of attention in a crowd. He likes to think he’s good with the ladies, but in actuality his penchant for bragging isn’t very attractive.
