Awarded to those Starfleet Officers who have passed the Level 8 Pilot's exam, certifying them to a Navigation status upon any Starfleet and/or Federation vessel. This is usually only achieved by a select few as the testing for this level is extremely rigorous in order to be certified for any craft in the Federation of any tonnage.

The Distinguished Piloting Cross is what would be described as a Major Honor. It cannot be bestowed on a character or non-player character without express permission from the GamesMaster as it is a highly prized and rare Starfleet Award.

In order to be eligible for nomination for this Award, the character must be a member of the simulation for not less than One Year. Nominations are submitted to the GM for deliberation.

A ribbon will be placed on the PC bio once approved.
