Dramatically different from most humanoid races, except Bolians, with blue skin, nickle based blood and facial cartilidge plates. The average Betelgeusean stands seven or more feet tall. Their skulls are larger than humans and taper up to a rounded point. Their faces are vaguely human, give or take a ridge or fold or two. Their skin is generally blue and thin, but can range from green to violet. They have the claw and bone structures like a condor, but walk upright. |

Betelgeuseans are a race whose culture has always valued heroism, on a level equal to spirituality. Legends of the exploits of their former leaders, generals, scientists and religious leaders aren't legends to them: they're fact. They name their children after historical personages, continually compare current events to those historical, and are completely fixated on the past. Their literature and theatre is centered on recreating and glorifying events and people that have gone before. They seek and ultimately respect those heroic qualities in other races, and Betelgeuseans join Starfleet primarily to see those qualities in action.
Betelgeuseans are humanoids descended from a race of leopard-like eagles. Warp drive was invented during the Slichez Age (2150).
