Born on the USS Iasis, a medical frigate, Sara-Jayne spent the first few years of her life there with her mother who was the Assistant Chief Engineer of the starship. When Sara was seven the Iasis was attacked and destroyed by a deep range patrol of Jem’hadar fighters while they were responding to a false civilian distress beacon that had been sent out by a Cardassian. Sara along with most of the children aboard were successfully evacuated in a series of lifepods, however many of the lifepods were subsequently attacked by the Jem’hadar. The children along with the few survivors made emergency landings on a nearby ‘L’ class planetoid and hid there until a rescue party picked them up a few weeks later. Sara doesn’t recall much about this time, only that all of a sudden her mother was gone. As her father was commander of a combat ship Sara was sent to live with relations on Vulcan, a hot and dry planet she didn’t like at all full of people who didn’t want to have any fun. She spent almost a year on Vulcan until her Father was given command of a Research vessel tasked with studying the after effects of the Dominion War on the interstellar weather and other related phenomena. After almost four years on the Douglas Adams Sara’s father suddenly and inexplicably resigned from the Fleet, giving no reasons and purchased a reconditioned ship that had been retired from fleet service and turned it into a cruise liner. For a little over eighteen months Sara found herself enjoying the opportunity to meet the variety of people who travelled onboard and seeing new things and places. One day though, things got weird! Sara was woken in the middle of ships night by the XO, he literally dragged her to the nearest transporter room amidst sounds of chaos and screaming and beamed her into a hastily setup transporter stasis. The next thing Sara knew she was being rematerialised by Kimberly Burton. The ship was deserted, and there was no indication of what had happened, or where everyone had vanished to. After being rescued from the Graceful Swan by Kimberly Burton, Sara spent several days with Federation Social Services and JAG officers deciding where she would be sent. As her only relatives other than her father had recently passed away she had no-where to go, and she was asked where she wanted to go. Being more at home on starships that planets, she asked if she could go with the officer who had rescued her, she had taken a liking to the young counsellor and after some discussions with Kimberly, Sara was placed in her care as her ward. After a brief stint on the Relentless the two of them left for the Medical Academy complex on Thera so Kimberly could complete her MD, and Sara was introduced to the awe inspiring sunrise music of Thera’s crystalline mountains. Now on the Galaxy, Sara is hoping to settle down for a while and make some friends and relax. |

Described by many as cheerful and bubbly, Sara has also been described as someone who lives her life in exclamation marks. Going from one situation to another with an exuberance and enthusiasm that is sometimes infectious. She can though be a little shy around new people, mainly non humans, as she sometimes finds a few species that creep her out. Though she has teased Kimberly about it repeatedly Sara appreciates and understands her views on pacifism and non-violence, and like her wishes everyone could live peacefully, however, there are times she likes a good brawl, and has once or twice gotten in trouble for fighting after being teased about something or other. |

Hair: Red Something she hasn’t admitted to anyone, Sara-Jayne has a slight learning problem, she finds it difficult to focus on letters and numbers so it can take her a while before she picks something new up if she has to read it, having to go over the page several times. With current medical knowledge it wouldn’t be too difficult to overcome this, but she’d have to tell someone first. Also, Sara-Jayne managed to salvage a handful of things from her room on the Graceful Swan, amongst them was a handful of items belonging to her father, one of which is his fleet issue commbadge. She is holding onto it in the hope he’ll try and contact her one day via it. Despite being brought up mainly on Starships (With occasional interludes on various planets) Sara has one distinguishing feature, she has freckles, something few Terrans develop after a life on starships. |
