Ahdjiia was born to the D'Tinya Falls family
while they were on a pilgrimage. Her upbringing started out standard for
a Chrysalian-devout to the Revered Ones and learning about how one best
could contribute to the family and more, but somewhere along the line,
Ahdjiia became restless. True, they'd had peace for 10 generations, and
had avoided all interstellar conflicts for the same time, as well as managed
to merge their ancient spiritual beliefs with the modern high technological
present. Life was good, but she wanted more.
Her family was very bothered by her asking disturbing questions at school about what was out among the stars. Why bother with the ones out there? They still reveled in conflict and suffered for it. When Ahdjiia heard the tales about the peoples of the stars from the ones who monitored the communications that flitted through subspace, she couldn't stand being on Chrysalia anymore. Everything she'd been taught to revere looked sterile and stagnating, and the deeper she looked, it seemed more like a piece of fruit that still looked good on the outside but hid a core of rot. Acting impulsively, she managed to stow away on Devinoni Ral's ship on one of it's rare on planet landings. He noticed the young woman-child not long after and she pleaded with him to not send her back. For reasons of his own, he let her stay aboard and she learned some of the basics of the way things were out among the stars. Each new experience made her hungry for more and eventually she parted ways with Ral and joined Starfleet. Ahdjiia had trouble gaining admission as Chrysalians weren't members of the Federation and so she pleaded asylum. Once the Chrysalian government heard of this, she was Excommunicated, and forbidden to return. The planet would consider her dead and she would never be spoken of again. On the surface, she was indifferent, but inwardly it hurt her deeply. She cast off all she'd held onto from her world, save her faith in Anashwaa-Mother Spider, one of the many nature spirits the Chrysalians still passionately worship. For quite a while, Ahdjiia wasn't sure of what field to go into once she entered the Academy. It was only when a Klingon martial arts instructor saw her in an altercation that went from arguing to physical fighting. K'honsu took Ahdjiia under his wing and she began her courses for Security. For versatility, she also took some Marine training and Tactical classes. Her first two assignments went by uneventfully. A bar brawl here, some contraband seizure there. Once she was assigned to the K'Hotan, things got exciting. As if to compensate for the staidness of her previous postings, Ahdjiia became rather reckless, jumping into the fray at any and all times. During the Dominion War, she sustained a near death belly wound by a Jem'Hadar. The experience didn't change her and she later received another serious injury during a search and seizure of a Cardassian Naval ship. It took a long private discussion between her and the K'Hotan's Chief of Security about learning when to boldly go and when to wait before going in for something to sink in, and her tour on the Lexington went by smoothly. In 2380, Ahdjiia D'Tinya and Simon Bolivar, the USS Galaxy's Chief Intelligence Officer, were married. In May 2381, Ahdjiia D'Tinya gave her life in order to save a group of children from certain death during the terrorist attacks at the Gryphon Asteroid Belt. For her actions, she was awarded the Federation Star posthumously. |

Ahdjiia's still a conflicting
mix of her Chrysalian upbringing and her Starfleet life. She does still
misunderstand some things such as practical jokes or sarcasm, as well as
still retaining that original curiosity that lead her down this life path.
While not quick to anger, she will not hesitate using fists when need be, actually preferring them over a phaser unless it's blatantly obvious to act otherwise. She gets along best with other Security officers and some Marines. Her personal relationships are few and far between, and from both sexes. |

Chrysalians overall are a
highly pacifistic society, devoutly spiritual, and are vegan. Ahdjiia still
retains a stylized spider tattoo on her belly, marking her as a follower
of Anashwaa. She has renounced a vegan diet and maintains a shrine to her
Revered One in her quarters to which she prays several times on a daily
basis. She will also wear a web patterned sheer veil that covers her upper
body when she's off duty, the only part of religious attire she still keeps.
She also owns several large spiders that have free roam in her quarters. |
