Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Faylin had a carefree childhood for the most part. At age 15, her father and mother were killed in a mysterious accident. After their death, she went to live with her aunt and uncle a short distance from her childhood home. Life with her aunt and uncle was peaceful, but all during her adolescence, the deaths of her parents constantly haunted her. The truth about her parent's murder was never revealed. They had owned a small, popular pub on the outskirts of Edinburgh. People trusted them, and often sought out advice on a number of topics. They were the typical bartenders....always lending an ear to a troubled soul. Faylin practically grew up in the pub, and knew all the patrons. The customers treated her as their own, and were spoiled rotten. One night, after the pub closed, two men of unknown race broke into the pub and murdered Faylin's parent's execution style. She was a witness to the incident, although was not seen. She was not considered the most pleasant Terran and did not conform to the typical standards. Upon graduating with a law degree from Harvard College on Earth, Faylin applied to Starfleet Academy and was accepted. Keeping her knowledge of law, she furthered her study to include forensics and criminal justice. Perhaps, she thought, if she had an understanding of how the criminal mind works, she could understand why her parents were taken from her. This led to no avail, no peace. Still searching for peace, she decided to settle in the security department. If she could not help her parents, perhaps she could help others. So began her quest for justice. Just prior to graduating, Faylin chose to investigate her parent's death. Using Starfleet resources and what she was taught concerning the criminal mind, she launched an investigation and located possible suspects to the robbery and murders. Her final marks at the Academy were not as high as they should have been with her focus split on locating the suspects and finding time to study. Upon graduation, McAlister was able to locate the final clue that finished the puzzle. Using her prowess and powers of persuasion, she set off on a quest to find justice for her parents. The best way to accomplish this, in Faylin's mindset, was to become a JAG. She was appointed to StarFleet JAG Headquarters for two years before requesting to be placed with the USS Galaxy. While working at JAG Headquarters, Faylin became pregnant. Giving birth to a little girl and naming her Olivia, McAlister found new hope in her life. Her daughter was everything to her and so much more. Life had finally felt complete in her world. Upon transferring to the USS Galaxy with Olivia, she found peace in the fact that her life was new again. Shortly after however, her past had caught up with her, ending the life of her daughter tragically, and forcing Faylin to admitting to her sins of the past to Starfleet. It was within this time, that she did find some joy by meeting and later marrying First Lt. Steven Jonas before she had to atone for her past transgressions. Admitting her crimes resulted in her faked death, and her transformation into Juliette Rinaldi, JAG officer and newest member of Starfleet's Witness Protection Program. Her demeanor is rather icy to say the least. Faylin exhibits a coolness about her that is difficult to crack on the first meeting and spooky to say the least. It's as if she is burdened by some deep hurt that has settled inside her and will not surface. Her eyes relay a sadness that hints to that hurt, but she is very tight lipped about her experience or experiences that made her that way. She appears to be very focused on the job at hand that is presented to her. She's not a loner, but prefers to concentrate on conversation relating to the job at hand. Except, when she holds conversations with First Lt. Steven Jonas or Lt. Saul Bental. Those two men are the only ones that she feels comfortable enough with to truly let her guard down when around them. Faylin's work ethic is amazing. She is truly focused upon the task at hand. She excels in her field; it's as if her work is the only thing that gives her comfort in a way since her incident that leads her here. Her temperament is a quiet one. Upon testing, she retains her coolness and has a very low stress level for a short period of time. She appears to be the type that bottles her frustration inward until it explodes and leaves an utter path of destruction. Faylin prefers to keep to herself personally. She is an outgoing person when she is required to be by her duties. Due to her diplomatic duties, her quarters are decorated with various gifts she has received from other cultures. To keep her company, she has a white Pomeranian named Kronos. Since her transformation, Kronos resides with First Lt. Steven Jonas. Her true identity is required to be kept a secret until that time that she can testify against the Inner Sanctum and free herself totally from it's grasp on her. |
