Aayla was born on Orion, her mother was a slave to some high ranking politician. When her mother gave birth to her, she feared what would become of her daughter, she wanted desperately not to have the child become a slave like herself and started planning on how she was going to get her away. Her chance came when Aalya was 5 years old, she had over heard her owner planning on selling the child, she knew she had to act fast. So at the risk of her own life she managed to arrange her removal from Orion and into the hands of Federation Diplomat who was visiting. The Diplomat, a man named Hiroshi Me took the child and promised to treat the orion child as his own. Aayla's mother gave her one last kiss and moved off into the night to await the fate that she knew was before her. Hiroshi took the child and immediately left for earth, they arrived 2 days later where Hiroshi immediately applied to have custody of the child with his wife Akiko. They were granted it and from the age of 5, Aayla was taught to follow her heart in anything she liked. Aalya loved climbing tress and anything else of height, her mother Akiko was always chasing her around and telling her that it wasn't right for her daughter to do such things. But Aayla was never afraid of falling even when she fell from halfway up a tree and broke her ankle in three places. She started attending school and was always made to feel welcome, she was always happy playing with her friends at school even if she looked different. Some children would always say that she wasn't Japanese, she wasn't really the daughter of her parents. Aayla knew that she wasn't, but she always knew that it didn't matter who gave birth to you, as long as those who were you parents loved you, and treated you as there own. Aayla started taking an interest in medical things at the end of her schooling, she passed with high marks and applied to do a Psychology and sociology course at the prestigious Japanese Medical Collage in Tokyo. She enjoyed the course immensely, learning things that she had never even thought existed. Her attention was now focused and she knew what she wanted to do when she was of age. Her parents supported her completely through the first two years of collage, her mother teaching her Japanese culture and giving her daughter the lesson that had been passed down to her many years earlier. Her father sensing that the stress of studying so hard was taking its effect, started to teach Aayla how to use a sword and how to meditate and allow the stress to leave. Aayla loved her parents deeply and her real mother was beginning to fade from her memory. Aayla couldn't even remember her real mothers name when she knew it was so fresh in her mind only a few years earlier. Aayla finished collage, and gained a degree. She then at the advisement of her father took a course in nursing, this covered both basic human and alien nursing practices. The course was two years long and yet covered in the last 6 months the advanced components that allowed her to get a job as a nurse at any hospital. Aayla wasn't satisfied with being a nurse, she applied and was accepted into a doctorate course on Psychology She studied hard for the next 5 years, learning about alien and human Psychology from some of the most experienced teachers. On her 21st birthday Akiko took her daughter away from the weekend. They spent 3 days in one of the beautiful temples, in that time she was given and accepted into being a woman. Aayla returned home a changed woman, her mother and her having formed a special bond over the weekend. She returned immediately to study and in 2377 she graduated with a doctorate in Psychology Aayla returned home after the graduation and spoke to her mother and father, asking them if she could join Star Fleet. Her mother was happy, her father was excited and proud that his daughter would be joining starfleet. She applied and was accepted into Star Fleet Academy. |

Aayla remembers very little of her time on Orion, or her real mother, the only things she has is a glass bead necklace that she thinks her real mother wore. She loves her adopted parents and loves that they love her as well. Her spirit and personality is easy going, she is hard to anger and calm under stress due to her fathers teachings. She is usually very quiet, but she certainly isn't shy. This is from her mother, who is traditional and has passed this down onto her daughter. She tends to relax by rock climbing and welcomes anyone who wishes to learn. |
