Ramir Omar came from a wealthy Romulan family who wanted him to join the Tal Shiar. His father, a Fleet Admiral, was the main reason that Ramir Omar felt nearly constantly told that he must join the Tal Shiar when he reached the correct age. Despite this however, Omar decided to apply for the Romulan Astrophysical Academy against the wishes of his parents. He graduated third out of two hundred students and wanted to travel onboard of a science vessel. However, his parents told him that even if he was not going to become a part of the Tal Shiar then he was going to join the Romulan Imperial Fleet. So very reluctantly then he applied for the Romulan Military Academy. He graduated at twentieth out of two hundred and was then placed onboard of the RIS Revenge. He later served onboard of two more vessels but he finally decided that he did not wish to be a Romulan soldier. Therefore he then retired from the military at the rank of Centurion. The only problem was that now then he had no idea of what he was to do. Then, he met Ambassador Spock and discovered that he was not Romulan. Normally, he would have of reported this immediately but he was intrigued by what the hiding Vulcan had to say. He talked of the Romulans uniting with the Vulcans and of joining the United Federation Of Planets and of leaving their great fear of other cultures behind of them. Since that very fascinating day Omar has been heavily involved with Romulan politics. He became a Junior Senator during the year of 2368 because he strongly believed that he could help Spock if he attained a powerful position. Once he had obtained the rank of Junior Senator he then used his power to subtly assist Spock and his very rebellious group. When the Dominion War ended, Omar volunteered for the opportunity to become the Romulan Ambassador to the United Federation Of Planets. He decided to actually do this because then he would still hold the rank of Junior Senator but would also be an Ambassador. Of course this way Omar then believed that he could learn more about humans. Before he was transferred to the USS Galaxy he served onboard Deep Space Nine. While he was there then he assisted in managing to peacefully prevent a group of Romulan Warbirds from destroying Deep Space Nine which earned him accolades resulting in a transfer to deep space duty on board the Galaxy. He contributes toward the gatherings of the Senate via subspace messages. |

Ramir Omar has found that most humans are highly suspicious of him and so he has found that if the person who has the authority to grant his request is female then it is necessary to use his charm before they shall actually help him. When he is talkative to someone then it usually means that he is trying to get them to help with something. However, he does enjoy talking to humans and Vulcans. |

It is rumoured that Ramir Omar has many bottles of the illegal Romulan Ale inside of his quarters. However, there has not been a security investigation yet, due to the fact that if they do not trust the Ambassador of the Romulans then they shall never be able to achieve diplomacy with the Romulan Star Empire. He is referred to by the members of Starfleet not as an Ambassador but instead then by his Romulan title of Junior Senator. | ||
