Travis James "T.J." Rollins was born, within sickbay of the U.S.S. Bellerephon, to the proud parents of Richard and Kathryn Rollins on November the 18th, 2353. T.J. spent a lot of his life aboard the Bellerephon, with his head 'in the clouds', so to speak. T.J. was always dreaming about what would it be like to command his own starship, or what it was like back before there was space travel. T.J's father, Richard, received a temporary transfer to the U.S.S. Lantree to serve as Chief Tactical Officer during the Battle of Wolf 359, while the Bellerephon was shipped off to Starbase 12 for a minor refit. Little did he know that when his father stepped onto the shuttle leaving for the Lantree would be the last time he'd see his father. T.J. was devastated, and received weekly counseling form the ships counselor. In 2370, Kathryn shipped her son off to live with his grandparents on Earth, due to the threats of an upcoming war between the Federation and the Dominion. During the war, T.J. read the different news articles that were available, paying close interest within the casualty reports. It was here that T.J. enrolled in an internship at Starfleet Medical and earned his Medical Degree. In 2379, shortly after earning his MD, T.J. then made the decision to join starfleet as a starship doctor. Within his third year at the academy, T.J. was temporarily assigned to the U.S.S. Copernicus for his hands on Cadet Training Cruse. During their training assignment, The Copernicus was dispatched to Planet Vulcan on a routine assignment when they picked up an automated distress call from the U.S.S. Tian An Men. The Tian An Men was a transport vessel carrying refugees from the front lines of the Dominion war, and was relocating them to Starbase 217. Arriving at the source of the distress call, the Copernicus quickly finds out that it was a trap set up by a small Dominion task force. Being a ship not intended for battle, the Copernicus reversed course and tried to escape, only to be disabled before entering warp. Shortly after being disabled, the U.S.S. Yamato and U.S.S. Rabin dropped out of warp and drove off the Task Force, allowing Copernicus to make repairs and return to Earth. After returning to Earth, T.J. continued his studies at Starfleet Academy and shortly graduated. His first assignment is aboard the U.S.S. Galaxy. |
