Callum Kochanski was born on a farm, part of the rural colony the surounded the Setlik III outpost. Callum remembers little of his childhood or of his parents, most of that time will forever be covered with memories of death, pain and loss. For it was that summers day when he and the other children were playing when the sky turned sky turned blood red and the biuldings on the horizon burned. Officially the Cardassian government have claimed the Setlik III outpost was a staging position for a Federation offensive, The truth of the matter is still unknown. What is known is the emotional torment of a little boy who watched his parents die in the fires started by Cardassian disrupter weapons.

On moving to Earth, Callum tried to hide his pain. He burried it deep inside and concentrated on making a new life living with his Aunt. he focussed hard on his studies and grew to realise he had a massive gift for the Sciences. On a social level he became charming, funny and happy. Although slightly goofy he never felt out of place in a crowded room. He could always be found with a joke and a smile, become the 'funny guy'.

However, by the time he reached the Academy he'd begun to show cracks in his personality. Everyday he read about the situation in the demilitrized zone and this made his blood boil. He got into trouble several times for his racist stance against Cardassians and his support of the Maquis. He was able to save his academy position and recover his studies with the help of his Vulcan roommate who tought him greater control of his negative emotions. Callum began to respect the Vulcan culture so much that he requested assignment to the Vulcan Science Academy on graduation.

Callum is eccentric. He is bubbly and unpredictable, always doing something unexpected or thinking in very unique ways. He loves his work and loves to think outside the box. Callum has a Rubik's Complex - He has to solve the puzzle, no matter what!

Always joking, laughing and having fun. Callum still has repressed rage, bubbling where no-one can see it. Resentment of Cardassians and a need for revenge. But on the outside he is cheerfull, friendly and reliable.
