How long have you been simming?

Since March/April 1999.

What was your favourite episode (from the game or Trek in general)?

Man, there are so many I like. But if I have to choose then I would say "Encounter at Farpoint", "A Matter of Honor", "The Measure of a Man", "Contagion", "Q Who?", "Peak Performance", "Deja Q", "Yesterday's Enterprise", "The Offspring", "The Best of Both Worlds", "The Drumhead", "Redemption", "Unification", "Cause and Effect", "I Borg", "Chain of Command", "Tapestry", "Timescape", "Parallels", "The Pegasus", "Lower Decks", "All Good Things", ...and that's only the TNG part. Get the picture?

What type of music do you enjoy?

Adult Contemporary, Blues, Classical, Classic Rock, Irish, Jazz, Oldies, Soundtracks

What is your favourite sport?

Chess, Formula One, Golf

How do you eat an Oreo?

Beats me. What kind of food is an "Oreo" anyway (Ed. Note - ACK!)?

Who is your favourite author?

Honestly, I don't think REALLY have a favourite author. Well, maybe Diane Carey (Ship Of The Line), John Gribbin (In Search Of Schrodinger's Cat), and Arthur C. Clarke (the Space Odyssey series)

What is your favourite movie?

All Star Trek, Star Wars (oops?), James Bond, and Indiana Jones movies, "The Man Without A Face", "First Knight", "Saving Private Ryan", "In The Name Of The Rose", "Patriot", "Gladiator", "A Beautiful Mind", "The Hunt For Red October", "Finding Forrester", "Medicine Man", "The Mummy" (and follow up), "The Three Musketeers", "Robin Hood", "Cirano (you know, that guy with the immense nose), ...and probably a few more.

What is your favourite TV show?

Any of the Star Trek series, Scientific programs.

What is your favourite quote?

"As our own species is in the process of proving, one cannot have superior science and inferior morals. The combination is unstable and self-destroying." -Arthur C. Clarke

What was the best advice ever given to you?

"Love thy neighbor as thyself" (or something along those lines) and "Honesty lasts longest."

What was your favourite Galaxy moment?

That episode where the crew of the Galaxy had shore leave on Risa. It was actually a "free range" episode with a subplot in it.

Who is your favourite character on the Galaxy?

Lt. Commander Suder, Matthew Albrecht, Lt. Commander Samara (Yo Kelly!), and Commander Karyn E. Dallas (obviously, I'm biased in that choice :-))

What activities do you enjoy most?

I play chess. Love the game. I'm a member of a chess club where I look after the whole competition and organize every round (who play against who). Besides that I read a lot of scientific articles - mostly from Scientific American and New Scientist - to keep up-to-date on what's happening on the scientific frontier. I also like hiking, cycling, listening to music, watching movies, (philosophic) discussions on interesting subjects.

Have you ever had anything published?

Nope. Doubt that will ever happen.

Ever met any Star Trek or Science Fiction celebrities?

I would be lying if I said I did.

What is your claim to fame?

I believe I'm the first in my family who may call himself a qualified Engineer ("Ingenieur" as they call it in the Netherlands) and use the title "Bachelor in Engineering" (or ,in other words, place "Ing." before my name). Although it's not really that special, I am still a bit proud of it.

What is your first memory of Star Trek?

Ages ago, when I was still a kid, I was watching TV and I came accross ST:TNG when I switched channels. At least, that's how I remember it.

What other sim groups have you been a part of?

I've been writing Michael McDowell on USS Galaxy TOS (AES) for three years and a few months on the USS Windsor (Blue Horizon Simulations?). I've been also on various other sims, holding positions like COO and CEO, but only for short periods.

What hobbies do you enjoy?

See question "What activities do you enjoy most?".

Anything else you want to share?
