Born on Kelva in 2249, the
Kelvans were approximately 100 years away from the radiation poisoning their
planet. All resources at this time had been poured into building sleeper
ships to shuttle the population away from the dying planet and into scientific
research to halt the radiation in order to save their planet.
There had been no communications with the initial scouting party sent to the Alpha Quadrant in search of a new home 300 years previous, but all signs pointed to the vessel remaining intact. Almost all other scouting parties sent throughout the neighbouring galaxies had been destroyed by some form or another. Therefore, most of the sleeper vessels being built and readied were for their journey to the Alpha Quadrant. Thankfully, over the years, technology had increased the speeds and distances traversed, and instead of the 300 year trek the original scouts took, the new vessels could travel the same distance in 100 years. Kylar spent his entire childhood up to the age of 18 Terran years being schooled intensively with an emphasis in military combat training in the event the Kelvans needed to defend themselves upon waking. Their planet may be forcing them to leave, but they weren't going to die without spreading their influence and good word. The Kelvan boarded his Sleeper vessel bound for the Alpha Quadrant in 2267 and entered hibernation immediately upon boarding. A century later, in 2367, they awoke and were surprised to find a Federation Boarding Party from the USS Copernicus awaiting them. The meeting wasn't anywhere close to what the first contact encounter had been. Kylar had been put off initially by the emotional lack of control the Federation officers had at the time (Science officers, of course!), but been equally impressed by the leader's quick and efficient method of processing them. It was clear to him, that this Starfleet approached a life mirroring Kelva's with its militaristic ideals. They were then delivered to the new Kelvan homeworld. The Federation intrigued him, and it was here he left Kelva II and enrolled in the Diplomatic Corps, where he quickly surpassed expectations and used his position to spread Kelvan influence throughout the Galaxy. He used this approach, as over the years, he saw inconsistency in Starfleet, and vowed to use his position to gain prominence in order to alter it to the Kelvan way. |

Mysterious, calculating, to the point. Doesn't beat around the bush, straightforward, and brutally honest. The shortest distance between two points is a straight line in Kylar's philosophy. As with all Kelvans, he strives for perfection, and retains an emotional state equal to Vulcans. He has not been known to have emotional outbursts, and always has put the interests of the Diplomatic Corps above all others. His tenure with the Judge Advocate Generals' Office was extremely successful, with all Intergalactic interests settled before reaching arbritration. For this, he was awarded the Act of Distinction. As a result of his militaristic approach to actions in everyday life, and lack of social graces, Kylar has not been able to hold onto any long-lasting friendships. He is a watcher, analyzing everything and everyone. Usually maintains silence, unless Federation protocols are being infringed upon. He appears to have a strong sense of family, as he maintains contact with the newly settled world of Kelva II on a regular basis. |

Has a habit of reaching to
his waist to use the Kelvan Neutralizer when approaching anger, even though
the belt has long since been banned.
