- Duotronic Computer perfected. - Battle of Clonf-A between Lyrans and Federation leads to uneasy truce. - An Orion pirate raider fleeing from the Klingons will also prefer the apparent suicide of the WYN cluster rather than face capture by the ISF. Captured instead by the Kzinti renegades, the pirate captain quickly (and gladly) will come to terms. For the next 30 years the pirates (of the Cluster clan) will supply the WYN with the things it needs most: high-tech manufacturing equipment and population. By the time the Klingons discover the existence of the WYN "race", some 40 million sentient beings reside in the cluster on eight habitable planets. Kzinti renegades, Orion pirates, Lyran families on the losing end of their constant civil wars, and Klingon vassels forming the bulk of the population here, but representatives (mostly escaped felons or mercenaries) from almost every known sentient race will be present. The WYN position will be perfect for defense for two reasons. First, any ship coming through the radiation belts will be disoriented for a considerable period. Until the effects of the radiation ware off, attacking ships will suffer continuous computer and electronic malfunctions drastically reducing their effectiveness in combat. The small WYN fleet, which would have been blasted to dust in high space, can easily handle intruders disoriented by the radiation. The second reason for WYN defensive success is that none of the bordering races can afford to see the others gain control. The WYN Cluster is richer by far in rare minerals and metals than any other region in space. Time and again, Kzinti ships will prevent the Klingo-Lyran alliance from overwhelming the Cluster, and more than once Klingon or Lyran ships will help keep the Kzinti at bay. The richness of the cluster will support a strong and growing economy. Trade with the Lyrans, Klingons, and Kzinti will proceed actively from 2262 through the General War--with trade conducted solely on the WYN's terms. A cargo ship filled with such things as computers, navigation equipment, spare parts, heavy ship's weapons, drones, and other items would be sent into the cluster under a robot pilot. The WYN fleet would intercept the craft, unload the cargo, and fill it with processed ore, dilithium, platinum, fissionables, and other items for the return trip. Sometimes terms will be arranged by subspace communications, and rarely a trade representative will visit the WYN capital, but usually the exchange rates are set by the WYN. On more than one occasion, the conniving WYN will send out the ship at a point close enough to the Kzinti-Lyran or Kzinti-Klingon border to tempt the neighbors into fighting over it. The one thing the WYN lack is a shipyard capable of actually building ships (rather than just converting them). In 2264, the Orions will construct one within the Cluster on the condition that it remain under Orion control. The arrangement involves the gift of a Cruiser and several light raiders (and a further payment of one light raider per year) to the WYNs, but gives the Orions one shipyard relatively invulnerable to attack, or Federation insepction [Starfleet Battles]. - The 'time barrier' (warp factor 4) is broken by intermix improvements--and dilithium crystal focus. The crystals are used to focus and channel the output, not just in the energizers. With more energy made available stronger warp generators are built. These "Titiac" PB-32 (3rd Generation warp drive) warp engines will be installed on the "Bonhomme Richard" (NCC1712) class heavy cruisers, and eventually backfitted on most of the "Constitution" (NCC-1700) class vessels, allowing warp 8 maximum velocity and warp 6 cruising velocity. These units feature partially exposed space warp generators, which create a more stable warp bubble with correspondingly slower dilithium decay, and a near-perfect manufacturer's test record. Dr. Laurence Marvick was one of the designers of the PB-32 engines and/or the "Bonhomme Richard" heavy cruiser [Star Trek Maps, Star Fleet Enginery Sheet, TOS 16: "The Final Reflection", U.S.S. Enterprise Heavy Cruiser Evolution Blueprints, TOS: "Is There In Truth No Beauty?"]. - Ambassador Sarek is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize [TOS 42: "Memory Prime"]. - The United Earth Alliance Parliament issues the Star Fleet Medal of Honor. This stylized U.F.P. symbol superimposed on a solid gold disk set against a 5-pointed silver star attached to a red-white-blue vertical striped ribbon, is the highest decoration awarded by Star Fleet Command and the U.F.P. It is given to individuals who show self-sacrifice, heroism, and courage despite extreme peril in the service of the U.F.P. Because recipients are considered to be the embodiment of the highest ideals of the U.F.P., their descendants may automatically enter the Star Fleet Academy [FASA Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. - The Hydrans from the lost colonies under King Hydraxan XI attack the Klingon satellites over the Hydran planets. The Hydran ships are armed with short-range fusion beams and carry fighters. In a swift campaign lasting only a few weeks, the Hydran Kingdom is restored. The personal popularity of Hydraxan XI makes him "unacceptable" to the Guilds, and he dies under mysterious circumstances. While Hydraxan XII ascends the throne, the Guilds solidify their power. - Four years after formalizing diplomatic relations, the Klingons attempt to influence member worlds of the U.F.P. to vote for dissolution of the Federation [TOS 16: "The Final Reflection"]. - The Federation's first starship, the U.S.S. Enterprise, is secretly commissioned early to rescue colonists stranded aboard the Rosenberg. Captain Robert April commands the mission, accompanied by George S. Kirk, Security Chief of Starbase Two and father of George Jr. and James (age ten). Wishing to avoid yet another major war, Field Primus t'Cael Zaniidor Kilyle helps April to escape from Romulan space [TOS Giant Novel 3: "Final Frontier"]. |
2244 |
- The Third Federation-Kzinti War begins as the Kzinti
attack border stations. The Orions discover Kzinti living
in the WYN Cluster beyond the radiation zone. - USS Perseus and USS Mushaika Destroy a Klingon base in closed Ganatil system after being fired upon. - CONSTITUTION Class cruisers enter Starfleet Service with commissioning of USS Constitution NX-1700. - Sarek declines to speak to his son, Spock, after his choosing Star Fleet service over the Vulcan Academy of Science. Sarek proclaims Spock vrekasht (outcast). As a result, Amanda leaves her husband for nearly a year [TOS Novelization: "Journey to Babel", TNG Giant Novel 16: "Sarek", TOS 73: "Recovery"]. - M'Ress is born on the planet Cait [Curt Danhauser's animateds timeline]. - Montgomery Scott formulates the Aberdeen Solution, which disproves the Perera Theory of photon torpedo explosions [TOS 47: "The Kobayashi Maru"]. - Four years after formalizing diplomatic relations, the Klingons attempt to influence member worlds of the U.F.P. to vote for dissolution of the Federation [TOS 16: "The Final Reflection"]. |
2244, May SECOND FEDERATION-KZINTI WAR BEGINS |
- The Brass Ring Incident: a U.F.P. passenger ship
strays into the Romulan Neutral Zone, nearly triggering
off another Romulan war. The original treaty is amended [TOS
37: "Bloodthirst"]. - The Second Federation-Kzinti War begins as the Kzinti attack border stations. The Orions discover Kzinti living in the WYN Cluster beyond the radiation zone. - Star Fleet Intelligence learns that the first Axanarian task force under command of Klingon Admiral Kkorhetza has left the Klingon naval base of Ruwan [FASA Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. - Captain Robert April addresses the U.F.P. General Assembly that he is stepping down from the Fleet Starship Program, allowing it to unfold under hardier hands. He announces that five ships of the "Constitution" class are embarking on missions and seven more are under construction. He also announces his successor to the captaincy of the flagship U.S.S. "Enterprise" as Captain Christopher Pike [TOS Giant Novel 3: "Final Frontier"]. - The U.S.S. "Bohr" reports observing a three-ship Klingon task force in unclaimed space between the U.F.P. and Klingon spheres of influence, and is diverted from picket duty. The small task force is a decoy to lure the "Bohr" from its patrol area and to allow a 20-ship force to attack the Federation-manned Arcanis IV Research Outpost. Klingon marines massacre the entire 112 crew of this base which begins a chain of events that will lead to war. Having detected two massive Klingon battle fleets in the following two months, the Federation begins to prepare for war, but hostilities do not begin immediately. Meanwhile, all this is a blind to distract the U.F.P. from Axanar, the true target of Klingon interest [FASA Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. |
2244, December 21 |

young Kevin Riley. Kirk is rescued by Sarek, but
his memory of the ambassador is suppressed [TOS: "The
Conscience Of The King", TOS: "Errand
of Mercy", TOS
54: "A Flag Full of Stars", TOS
73: "Recovery",
TOS/TNG: "Avenger", Star
Trek 1 - James Blish -
Conjecture: Based on the unaired footage from ENT:
'In a Mirror, Darkly II" stating Sato's death
in 2246, I've moved this section from 2241 to 2246. The
old canon debate comes into order here. Do I ignore series
edited footage or not? Your call]. - Hoshi Sato and her family were among the four thousand people who died on Tarsus Four in 2246 when a food shortage caused by an exotic fungus threatened the colony's population. Governor Kodos ordered the deaths of Sato and the others in order to save the rest of the colony. She was buried in Kyoto with her husband, Takashi Kimura [Unaired footage from ENT: 'In a Mirror, Darkly II" - Mike Sussman has stated that this should not be taken as canon]. |
2246, September |
- On September 1, The "Loknar" class frigate U.S.S. "Morgan
City" (NCC-2704) is captured by Admiral Kamato's forces.
It will later be renamed the IKSV "Straave'eMara" ("Slave
Of Justice") and be used in Kamato's abortive coup attempt
on the Klingon throne. After failing, Kamato will retreat
into the Triangle taking the "Loknar" class frigate with
him. From their location in the Triangle, the Klingon rebels
will attack unprotected convoys and merchant vessels by
using the "Straave'eMara" to lure them in. This ruse will
last several years until the general recall of all "Loknar" class
vessels make it difficult for the Klingon vessel to operate.
The IKV Admiralty eventually decides to have the vessel
painted in the standard steel-gray color of their Navy
and keeps the ship in active service [FASA
Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. - On September 29, In response to the Federation Council, Admiral Kkorhetza refuses to withdraw his ships from Federation territory, issuing a formal declaration of alliance with the natives on Axanar. This results in a state of war between the U.F.P. and the Klingon Empire, and the Four Years War begins. At the Second Battle of Axanar, Captain Garth (his small command now reinforced by Star Fleet) defeats Kkorhetza's forces and is awarded the Federation Medal of Valor. Though tactical experts expect the Romulans to enter the war on one side or the other, they do not [FASA Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition, Federation Reference Series, Ships of the Star Fleet]. |
2246, October 6 |
Over the next six months, the Klingons win the decisive Battles of Andromeda, Genmarx, Lea, Lyclydun, and Janni IV. Though somewhat weak in tactical skill, they make up for it in numbers, often outnumbering U.F.P. defending forces three or four to one [FASA Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. |
2246, October 10 |
- Slightly over a year after beginning its "official" maiden voyage, the Enterprise is attacked by Klingon Commander Kor while attempting to deliver supplies to Tarsus IV [Enterprise Logs: "Though Hell Should Bar The Way"]. |
2246, December |
- Researchers at HiBeam Energies, Ltd. develop the
ship-mounted phaser. Hasty installation of the phasers
onto Star Fleet vessels causes numerous accidents. Phasers
are withdrawn from service for additional tests [FASA
Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. - Another Klingon-Tholian "incident" occurs. - The only AFR-Indirigan War erupts. No significant losses will occur to either side. The Indirigans eventually will end the conflict by simply picking up and leaving Indirigan space in 2251 [Starfleet Battles]. - Robert April retires from Star Fleet after quietly speaking out against certain Federation policies. He continues to serve as an ambassador-at-large [FASA Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. - The Battle of Axanar is fought [TOS: "Errand of Mercy", Star Trek Maps]. |
2247 |
- Cloaking devices, much perfected by this time, are
installed on Romulan vessels operating on the U.F.P.
border. Smaller vessels are equipped first and sent into
Federation territory to learn what they can of Federation
forces and their disposition. Instructed not to let the
Federation discover they are Romulan vessels, they are
given orders to self-destruct if caught. These privateers
capture or destroy many Federation merchants and scouts.
The Federation is unaware of the true nature of the disappearances
for some time, and attributes them to Orions and other "Outlands" Region
pirates [FASA
Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. |
2247, July |
- The attack on Convoy Y-162 near the Revonet system
marks the first significant Klingon defeat. In this battle,
the Klingons do not have superior numbers and it shows
what the U.F.P.'s superior tactical ability can accomplish
when the odds are more even. - Hikaru Sulu enters the Star Fleet Academy and majors in Spatial Navigation. He will become captain of the Academy fencing team for three years running [TOS: "Errand of Mercy"]. - The 25th starbase begins operations on this hundredth year of these command centers [Spaceflight Chronology]. - The Third Klingon-Hydran War ends. The Hydrans have gained no territory, but have regained their self-respect. For reasons that remain obscure, four new kings take the throne in less than one year. The last king, Hydraxan XVI, will manage to hold power for two years. - The Mechad initiate aggression against the Clydon Organics. This action will constitute a full-scale war and will most likely be the reason preventing the Clydons from conquering the Free Trade Zone four years later. - As a result of the numerous ship disappearances, Star Fleet Command orders the Zone of Transport Escort for a large region of Federation space. This order restricts movement of private and commercial starships, requires naval escort for vessels travelling in the restricted area, and places armed marines aboard all escorted ships. These new regulations remain in effect until after the war. The Zone order significantly reduces the frequency of piracy attempts and unexplained starship disappearances [FASA Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. - The Klingons suffer their worst defeat yet, losing five squadrons to U.F.P. forces in the Nostveg Engagement [FASA Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. |
2248 |
- The Battle of Sinbad IV marks the first major confrontation
between ground troops of the opposing forces. - The Battle of Delgon-R marks the first use of Klingon gravitic mines and the first defensive action by Klingon forces. 2248, February |
The Imperial Navy has penetrated as deep as 15 parsecs into certain sectors of U.F.P. space, but is seriously overtaxed [FASA Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. |
2248, March |
- Star Fleet withdraws "Constitution" class cruisers
from front-line combat duty against Klingon forces. The
class will continue to serve on other fronts in its pre-war
capacities [FASA
Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. - The Karagite Order of Heroism decoration is originated by the U.F.P. Executive Council. It is a stylized humanoid female with outstretched arms grasping an upraised sword attached to scarlet and white horizontal stripes, awarded to individuals who have shown conspicuous heroism in defense of U.F.P. worlds and their populations in times of conflict. The decoration is named in honor of the successful Star Fleet Marine defense of the planet Karag against Klingon invaders during the Four Years War. - The "Larson" class destroyers "Hammurabi" (NCC-4337) and "Troy" (NCC-4338) are destroyed while escorting a convoy of merchant ships bound for a frontier area. During the battle, 17 freighters are destroyed and an additional 4 are taken as prizes by the Klingons. Of the 5 surviving ships, all report that the "Hammurabi" destroyed two Klingon D-7 cruisers and crippled two others before being destroyed herself. The "Troy" apparently was disabled in the initial exchange of fire and left for dead. When a Klingon cruiser ventured too close to the derelict, however, it opened fire and destroyed the enemy vessel in a single volley. - Mantilles becomes the 25th U.F.P. member [Star Trek Maps]. - Neural (Zeta Bootis III) is discovered [TOS: "Errand of Mercy", Star Trek Maps]. - Enroute to Vega IX, the "USS Enterprise" discovers Anomaly T-128 (informally known as Pike's Rift), a temporal rift which opens every 33.4 years. Passing through it, first contact is made with the Calligar who aid in the installation of the voice analog systems to the "Enterprise" computer, utilizing the first officer's voice print [TOS 57: "The Rift"]. - The U.S.S. "Potemkin" (NCC-1711) has her Monotronic computer system replaced with a "Daystrom" Duotronic system [Ships of the Star Fleet]. - The D-20A m'ohtAk "Death Rite" class cruiser enters service in the Klingon fleet and is immediately rushed into the Four Years War. The class suffers from a lack of maneuvering power and a relatively weak superstructure [FASA Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. - Backed by massive loans from Leeper-Fell, Surelox Systems negotiates with Wyandotte Defense Shields to wage a secret campaign of price-fixing to reduce Charlottes Shields leadership in the field. This almost proves to be Surelox's undoing when the Federation Tribunal Court settles the matter by awarding Charlottes Shields a large finanicial judgement [FASA Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. - The Klingons successfully use their new D-10As and D-20As against the U.F.P. at the Debacle at Giso [FASA Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. - The Defense of Rudgur III marks the first use of chlortheragen, a Klingonmanufactured nerve gas [FASA Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. - Captain Christopher Pike quarantines Talos IV under General Order Number Seven. General Order 7 states that "any transgression...shall be punishable by death," the only order ever to do so. By stardate 1305.0, 17 additional Star Fleet General Orders will be in effect, totaling 24 [FASA Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition, Spaceflight Chronology, TOS: "The Menagerie Parts I & II", TOS: "Errand of Mercy"]. |
2248, September |
- The U.S.S. "Sverdlov" (NCC-1238) "Coventry" class
frigate is commissioned. On stardate 4022 she will be lost
with a minimum crew aboard while conducting performance
evaluations for the failed PB-51 series warp units. The
engines redlined and blew apart due to faulty seals in
several antimatter containment bottles, as determined by
a subsequent Star Fleet Inquiry Board [Ships
of the Star Fleet]. - The Second Federation-Kzinti War ends with no change in borders. - The mechanical nature of the Mechad results in some odd experiments with fleet composition. In some cases, the control software (i.e. the crew) of all the ships in the fleet are identical. The ships in such a fleet are capable of very close cooperation, having a unity of purpose that simply could not exist with ships and crews whose thought processes aren't identical. This often works very well, resulting in closely coordinated fleets which are extremely hard to defeat. On some occasions there are odd side effects. During this year, two battlecruiser crews cloned from the same operating system are jointly engaged in a reconnaissance-in-force expedition through the border marches of the KCA when they come across a poorly defended convoy. The risk assessment subprocesses of these two crews have a slightly odd configuration that leads to an obsession with gambling. They decided that the combination of the freighter convoy and the random nature of the Distortion Cannon provides an irresistible gambling opportunity. The Borg assimulate the Mechads, starting their 'cyber' modification of their species. |
2249 FOURTH LYRAN-HYDRAN WAR |
- A brief Fourth Lyran-Hydran War begins and ends as
Hydrans recapture two planets from the Lyrans. The Lyrans
are unable to devote their full attention due to troubles
on the Kzinti border and agree to a ceasefire. |
2249, September 10 |
The renegade Klingon Admiral Kamato and his followers establish the Imperial Klingon States in the Outlands Triangle. Declaring itself to be the "rightful" Klingon government in exile, the IKS becomes a major source of intelligence against the Klingon Empire for the rest of the war. Initially, the IKS contains only two planets: K'Linsann (formally Patterson's Place) and Kinarra [FASA Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. |
2249, December 6 |
Believing that the Klingons must stop the war now in order to strengthen themselves to fight again another day, Admiral Komex surrenders himself to U.F.P. authorities and informs them of the location of the two major Klingon supply bases in the disputed area [FASA Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. |
2250 |
- Starbase 12 operational along Klingon DMZ. |
2250, June 21 |
Star Fleet discovers that many of their top of the line fleet starships are spending too much time protecting and "watchdogging" too many of the newer and outermost located planetary systems. These starships are far too valuable and take up too much manpower to be properly effective. Therefore a highly mobile "armed" substation is considered to properly patrol and defend the confines of these outer systems, thereby freeing up the much larger destroyers/frigates/cruisers for more far reaching uses in exploration, rescue, diplomatic missions, defense/aggression etc. This leads to the eventual development of the "Saberhagen" class defense substation [Reischl's Guide to Ships of the Fleet - Preview]. |
2250, July |
Klingon citizens required to relocate in compliance with the Treaty of Axanar are transported to planets on their side of the newly defined Federation/Klingon border [FASA Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. |
2250, September |
- The "K't'Kara" ("Bringer Of Destiny") D-7C class
cruiser enters service in the Klingon fleet. This D-7 variant
has more efficient warp engines than on her predecessor
but they are incapable of powering all the weapons even
though the ship is more maneuverable [FASA
Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. - The Type 4 Phaser Rifle is developed by Star Fleet. This 3-chambered weapon offers increased range and energy output compared to earlier hand/pistol versions. A long-range beam weapon, the rifle features a targeting screen and a tri-chamber force selection assembly. The stun setting has a maximum effective range of 442 meters, a disrupt range of 366 meters, a dematerialize range of 297 meters, and a maximum overload detonation radius of 533 meters. It is the first practical hand-held phaser weapon issued by Star Fleet [Starfleet Dynamics, Weapons and Field Equipment Technical Reference Manual]. - Hikaru Sulu graduates from the Star Fleet Academy and enrolls in the Tufts College of Military Science, where he specializes in astrophysics and tactical weaponry. He will receive his degree four years later [TOS: "Errand of Mercy"]. - James Kirk is given his first deep space assignment aboard the heavy cruiser U.S.S. "Farragut" (NCC-1702) under Captain Garrovick and heads the first planetary survey of Neural (Zeta Bootis III) where he meets Tyree. However, his first six months aboard the "Farragut" are spent managing supply crates in the cargo bay. Androvar Drake is also assigned to the "Farragut" and will later command one of the original 12 "Constitution" class starships. Kelly Bogle serves aboard the "Farragut" also during this time--and he will become her captain in a decade [TOS: "Obsession", TOS: "A Private Little War", TOS Giant Novel 7: "Prime Directive", TOS/TNG Giant Novel 20: "The Ashes of Eden", TOS 71: "Crossroad", TOS 78: "The Rings of Tautee"]. - The decommissioned U.S.S. "Palomar" (CC-760), U.S.S. "Long Beach" (CC-761), U.S.S. "Tayi" (CC-762), U.S.S. "Dominium" (CC-763), and U.S.S. "R'Sah-Dan" (CC-764) "Caracal" class vessels are briefly taken out of reserve from Mars Musuem Orbit. |
2251 |
- No longer requiring the services of many older starships,
Star Fleet begins to decommission or destroy large quantities
of cruisers, destroyers, and scouts. All "Constitution", "Loknar", "Larson",
and "Nelson" class starships, refitted with phasers and
photon torpedoes, continue to serve as the Federation's
first line of defense [FASA
Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. - James Kirk contracts Vegan Choriomeningitis [TOS: "Errand of Mercy", TOS: "The Mark Of Gideon"]. - Plans are draws up for a vessel which can travel at high impulse speeds within a solar system without the massive energy expenditures a warp engine could create. Utilizing the same dilithium based technology and duotronic computer systems, the substation could obtain low warp speeds (up to 1.45) for a duration long enough to repel enemy forces out of the defended system. The "Saberhagen" class defense-substation is the final result [Reischl's Guide to Ships of the Fleet - Preview]. - 'The Great Shield Wars' ends. The Federation Fourth Sector Court of Commerce rules that Wyandotte Defense Shields and Surelox Systems have acted in collusion to make Charlottes Shields the victim of price-fixing. The resulting judgement brings about economic parity to these three industrial concerns [FASA Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. - While still a Starfleet medical student, Leonard McCoy leads a mass-innoculation program on Dramia II. Shortly after McCoy's team leaves, an Auroral Plague kills almost the entire population of Dramia II [19 years before TAS: "Albatross"]. - Ensign Spock graduates from the Academy and serves as Assistant Science Officer on a space cutter ship [TOS 44: "Vulcan's Glory"]. |
2252 |
After nine years, April announces Christopher Richard Pike as his successor to the captaincy of the Enterprise [TOS Giant Novel 3: "Final Frontier"]. |
2252, January HYDRAN CIVIL WAR BEGINS |
- The Alpha Centauri Academy of Science and Technology
originates the Cochrane Award. Silver filigree with precious
stones denoting the atomic structure of a dilithium nucleus,
the award is presented to scientists who, in the spirit
of Zefram Cochrane, have contributed to the U.F.P. through
outstanding performance in physical sciences or advanced
engineering applications [FASA
Roleplaying Guide, Second Edition]. - Final designs for the "Saberhagen" class defense-substation are approved. Funds are allocated and the firm of Prometheus Ship Assemblies Inc. is selected to assemble all the components together for the entire run of vessels needed [Reischl's Guide to Ships of the Fleet - Preview]. - The planet cHal ("Heaven" in Klingonese) is jointly settled by the Klingons and Romulans in borderspace, preparing for an all-out war with the U.F.P. Chal is a secret supply base populated by genetically-engineered Klingon-Romulans created to thrive in polluted environments. The Chal colonists are in turn enhanced by organs and tissues taken from captured Humans, and are virtually immortal. - The Hydran "civil war" begins anew, but all combat will take place within the palace over the next five years. |
2253 |
- The U.F.P. begins observing the planet Tau Lyra III
(Yoondri), a world of peaceful telepaths at peace for at
least 50 years, perhaps two or three times as long [TOS
71: "Crossroad"]. - Captain Christopher Pike of the U.S.S. "Enterprise" delivers a report on the Orion slave trade after an investigative mission into Orion-Rigellian colonial space.
